Why is everyone making beanus edgy now

No hate to any of the creators, but i feel like I need to clarify that Beanus is a goofy guy and that he isn't supposed to be edgy naturally. However, if people make there own take on beanus, that's perfectly fine with me, just as long as it's clarified as a different character. I know I'm overthinking this, but idk man. (Also the beanus in the picture was made by icy_dude2. Go check them out, there miis are pretty good)
